Regeneration Scheme for Blaenau Ffestiniog Submitted

18 June 2010

Miller Research has recently submitted the planning application for the £4.3 million regeneration scheme for Blaenau Ffestiniog in Gwynedd, North Wales. The designs for the town have been developed by a number of close partners including Macgregor Smith, Martin Stockley Associates, Cundall Light 4, Wilkinson Cowan Partnership and public artist, Howard Bowcott. The plans cover the whole of the town centre, including the western gateway the main shopping streets as well as creating a quality destination space next to the train station which is the main focal point for Ffestiniog steam railway and Arriva trains passengers. The application is due to be heard at Gwynedd Council's planning committee meeting on the 12th July 2010. If approved, the project will then be set up to proceed to construction design stage and to implementation in 2011. For further information on the project and Miller Research's specific skills and expertise in sustainable regeneration, please contact Chris Jones at Miller Research on 01873 851883 or email chris@miller-research.co.uk.
