Lighting the Zig Zag - Blaenau Ffestiniog
18 June 2010
Miller Research with the support of Cundall Light 4 - lighting specialists, has recently hosted a lighting trail of the zig zag miners path in Blaenau Ffestiniog to gauge opinion from the local community. The proposed lighting of the zig zag involves 35 solar powered lights that resemble the men climbing the path in the day-time and their miners' lamps at the end of the day. Andrew Bissell from Cundall Light 4, based in Manchester have been leading on the project for Miller Research with the trial showing the type of effect the lights would achieve. Watch the You Tube slide show at http://www.youtube.com/user/CundallLight4#p/u/0/lVHcdPGUaX8. The client, Gwynedd Council and local partners Blaenau Ymlaen are now considering the results of a recent community survey on the proposal before taking a view as to whether the idea goes forward to the planning stage.
