Place Making
Miller Research has collaborated and led a number of physical regeneration projects
across the United Kingdom which has focussed on the need to make places better for
local people and visitors alike. Working with a wide range of established partners
within urban design, highway and structural engineering, public art, cost and CDMc
and other specialisms.
Miller Research has played a pivotal role in the development
of a number of unique design led studies which has allowed us to challenge and contribute
to developing sustainable and community owned design solutions. We have also developed
our cross professional project management skills as part of these studies as well
as applying our proven community engagement, economic/retail analysis skills and
holistic regeneration expertise.
Place-making studies have included Pontycymmer
Oxford Street Improvements, Blaenau Ffestiniog Physical Regeneration Study with
built schemes included Brewery Yard, Abergavenny and the soon to be completed Durham
Market Place in the North East of England. Above all, we place emphasis on how physical
works enable local enterprise and entrepreneurship, visitor management, event development,
sustainable transport and employment generation.
