Sam is our resident economist having graduated from Sheffield University prior to joining Miller Research in March 2005. During his time at Miller, Sam has led a wide cross section of projects, from Miller’s groundbreaking Retail Distinctiveness® work across the UK, notably in South Oxfordshire, Richmondshire and Northumberland as well leading several industry research projects within a variety of sectors. To further his academic background and to enhance his management attributes, Sam completed an executive Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Cardiff University and graduated with distinction in the summer of 2011. Utilising his economics background, Sam has developed a high level of expertise in carrying out economic impact assessments and as such brings a richness of skills and attributes to the Miller Team. Sam also excels in carrying out industry research, and evaluations of European funded projects and programmes.
Sam is relieved to have successfully balanced work, study and bringing up his young family of three boys whilst studying for the MBA and because he had little time to indulge in his love of sports he is now making up for it by competing in Triathlons and continuing his quest of becoming a ‘scratch’ handicap golfer. He also hasn’t ruled out coming out of semi-retirement and re-igniting his football career before he gets too old!
