How we work

Miller Research has worked extensively on projects that support the resilience, equitability and sustainability of local economies. This includes working in partnership with public bodies, government departments, Higher Education Institutions, and private organisations.

Our work helps improve the allocation of public finance and inform policy decisions, by ensuring they are supported by robust and reliable economic data and modelling.

We use a number of detailed methods to determine the social, environmental and economic value and impact of public policy and programmes.

Services available
We are experienced at dealing with complex data and tailoring our models and frameworks to meet our client requests. This includes providing the following services:

• Feasibility studies and appraisals to provide a critical insight into the social, environmental, and economic value of potential investments decisions. We employ Green Book principles and quantitative frameworks to critically appraise options, assess the value for money, scope out risks and provide clients with a clear breakdown of the project delivery outcomes.
• Economic impact assessments (EIA) to understand how public finance investments, infrastructure projects, or polices contribute to the economy, such as job creation and GVA . EIAs calculate the interconnecting direct, indirect, and induced outcomes that occur from an investment or through the implementation of a policy.
• Data analysis to explore and capture tangible insights and measure project outcomes and impacts. Our team has extensive quantitative and data analysis experience, and are skilled in handling large data sets, from both secondary and primary data sources. We use statistical software to explore research data and illustrate findings in an accessible way.
