Jessica joined Miller Research with a Master’s degree in Social and Political Theory, which she achieved with the award of a departmental scholarship following her performance at undergraduate level. Based within the University of Warwick’s school of Social Sciences, Jessica was able to study a range of modules centered around social and economic change. She also worked as an advocate for Warwick’s first ever decolonise campaign, a research project aimed at investigating the structural barriers that BAME and international students face in the HE environment. Observing the range of projects that her tutors and peers were involved with sparked Jessica’s interest in varied and challenging research studies.

During her MA, Jessica engaged in more current political issues and she chose to explore the Welsh political landscape through her own study. Jessica hopes to expand upon this insight through her work at Miller, with a goal of contributing towards meaningful change which has a positive social and environmental impact.

After taking on an international research project in 2017, Jessica became passionate about travel and outside of work loves to spend any given moment exploring new places (pre and post Covid, of course!). She also has an interest in media and is currently learning videography and video editing – working on small creative projects when she has time.
