Merryn Tully
Consultant

Since joining Miller Research Merryn has worked across a wide range of areas including Social Policy, Food and Drink, Health and Wellbeing, Children and Early Years and Social Inclusion. She is an experienced interviewer and focus group facilitator, drawing upon her background in anthropology and a masters degree in the Anthropology of Food at SOAS, University of London to lead nuanced and thoughtful conversations with diverse participants.

Merryn is an organised and experienced project manager and has contributed to a range of projects for a variety of clients in recent years. These have included;

  • Research into Strengthening Local and Regional Food Systems in North Wales (Ambition North Wales, 2024)
  • Feasibility Assessment of a Food Systems Development Project (Assessing environmental, economic and community benefits) (Carmarthenshire County Council, 2024)
  • The Evaluation of the Wales in France Programme and the British Council’s Cultural Fund (Welsh Government, 2024)
  • Conducting a Synthesis Study of the Children (Abolition of Defence of Reasonable Punishment) (Wales) Act 2020: evidence and data synthesis. (Welsh Government, 2025)
  • Evaluation of Best Start Midwifery Continuity of Carer Model in Scotland in Partnership with The Lines Between (Scottish Government, 2025-ongoing)

Merryn is always keen to expand her knowledge in different areas and recently completed the University of Oxford’s ‘Introduction to Mapping, Spatial Data, GIS’ course. She also co-organised and facilitated Miller Research’s ‘Food Rants’ sessions at Green Man Festival in 2024.

Outside of work, Merryn loves to stay busy with hot yoga and pilates classes. She is also a keen cook and interested in learning about different foods from around the globe. She is also a member of the SOAS Food studies Centre committee, assisting with events planning and alumni engagement.
