Scout joined Miller Research in 2024 and in her first year completed her MSc in Sustainability and Ecology from the Centre of Alternative Technology. For her dissertation she explored the co-production of the Sustainable Farming Scheme for Wales from the perspective of farmers, emphasising the importance of including frontline communities for a just transition.

Scout has a background in conservation and ecology and worked hands-on in rewilding and ecological surveying in Scotland and Wales before moving into sustainable development in the third sector. She has experience working across the public, private and third sectors and engaging with stakeholders and volunteers in these spaces.

Scout has a keen interest in climate adaptation and resilience-building, and has recently begun working more in the fields of sustainable agriculture and food systems. She enjoys working with local communities and young people to improve awareness and agency around climate and environmental issues, and contributing to work which can deliver tangible benefits for people across sectors.

Outside of work, Scout enjoys crafting, hiking, camping, wild swimming and exploring local nature sites with her dog.
